November 2025 Lunch ‘n Learn

Join the Franklin Historical Society for a relaxed noon meet-and-greet followed by an engaging look at early 1900s schooling in Franklin.

Schedule

  • 12:00 P.M. — Bring your own lunch
    • Let’s eat, meet and greet in the Franklin Town Hall Museum (8060 S. Legend Drive, Franklin, WI).
  • 12:30 P.M. — Program begins
    • Learning takes place in the Whelan Schoolhouse — the cream city brick one-room schoolhouse next door to the Town Hall Museum.

What to expect

Hear about what education was like in a one-room school in early 1900s Franklin — the curriculum, discipline, daily routines, and stories that shaped a generation. The program will include illustrations and recollections to bring the era to life.

Presenter

Barbara Pforr — FHS member since 1969, society archivist, current FHS board member, and retired Franklin educator — will lead the presentation.
