November 2025 Lunch ‘n Learn
Join the Franklin Historical Society for a relaxed noon meet-and-greet followed by an engaging look at early 1900s schooling in Franklin.
Schedule
- 12:00 P.M. — Bring your own lunch
- Let’s eat, meet and greet in the Franklin Town Hall Museum (8060 S. Legend Drive, Franklin, WI).
- 12:30 P.M. — Program begins
- Learning takes place in the Whelan Schoolhouse — the cream city brick one-room schoolhouse next door to the Town Hall Museum.
What to expect
Hear about what education was like in a one-room school in early 1900s Franklin — the curriculum, discipline, daily routines, and stories that shaped a generation. The program will include illustrations and recollections to bring the era to life.
Presenter
Barbara Pforr — FHS member since 1969, society archivist, current FHS board member, and retired Franklin educator — will lead the presentation.
